Digital Batik Meets Manual Crochet:  A novel approach to graduate-level design scholarship

The textiles for this exhibit were inspired by West African textiles.  They were inspired by adinkra symbolism and wax print textile motifs.  The textiles were developed using the Kaledo Print software under the guidance of Dr. Diane Sparks.  The textiles were printed using a digital textile printer.  Crochet elements were added to the apparel designs using cotton crochet thread and the filet crochet lace technique.
